29,000 SF Renovation

Collaboration with Goody Clancy

The Olin Library Renovation at Cornell University reimagines key interior spaces through a design language rooted in classic heritage and material authenticity. MoharDesign developed interior concepts, finishes, and furniture that honor the library’s historic character, incorporating natural textures, muted accents, exposed concrete columns, and existing wood elements.

A central circulation spine—referred to as “Main Street”—organizes the space, with a highly visible service counter anchoring activity. Branching zones accommodate quiet study, small-group collaboration, and larger gatherings. Furniture configurations and low bookcases subtly define these environments, creating clarity, flexibility, and a cohesive, welcoming academic atmosphere.
