The new LSL research building is part of the Campus Master plan at UMass Amherst, designed to catapult UMA as a premier research institution and attract top industry leaders. It includes flexible labs for multiple sciences including Physics, Engineering, Biology, Environmental Science, and Chemistry. The 4-story building is curved, and MoharDesign repeated the curved forms in the the terrazzo patterns which feature chipped mirror and colored glass. The furniture includes customized write-up stations in labs, multiple offices and break areas.
